Sunny side, open-air terminal
KOA is an open-air airport. You walk off the plane into trade winds and bougainvillea. It's bright; bring sunglasses. The west side stays dry and warm most of the year.
Kona International Airport · KOA
Kona is the west-side arrival: black lava coastline, dry trade winds, and an open-air airport that still feels like Hawai'i. We deliver your 12 or 15-pax van curbside at KOA so your group heads straight to the beach, not to a rental-car shuttle bus.

The meetup
KOA is an open-air terminal. You walk off the plane, through a short open-roof concourse, and out into the sunshine. The ground-transportation curb is right there. We pull up with keys ready and A/C running.
First 15 minutes: quick walk-around (damage photos, seat belts, rear A/C, fuel level), keys in hand, paperwork confirmed, your group loads up. Most crews are rolling south toward Kailua-Kona or north toward Hapuna inside 20 minutes of wheels down.
If your flight is delayed: we watch the live arrival board. Weather on the west side is rarely the problem, but inter-island timing slides happen. We adjust silently.
Bag issues: we'll wait while you file at the counter. Don't choose between the meetup and a lost bag. We've got both.
The Kona side
The west side is the dry, hot half. Lava fields, reef breaks, coffee farms on the hillside. If you packed for beach weather, you packed for the Kona side.
KOA is an open-air airport. You walk off the plane into trade winds and bougainvillea. It's bright; bring sunglasses. The west side stays dry and warm most of the year.
Magic Sands Beach for a first dip, Kahaluʻu Beach for easy snorkeling with honu (turtles), and Kailua-Kona's Aliʻi Drive for harbor-front shave ice and poke within 15 minutes of the van drop.
Heading north on Hwy 19 gets you to Waikoloa, Hapuna, and the resort coast. Heading south on Hwy 11 takes you into coffee country, Kealakekua Bay, and eventually Volcanoes via the long way.
From Kona, it's...
Kona is the resort-coast base. North hits Hapuna and the Kohala ranches. South drops you into Kealakekua Bay and coffee country. Saddle Road cuts across to Hilo in two hours.

Do you have car seats or booster seats?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many and what ages at booking; we'll have them installed and ready when we meet you at KOA.
Can I return the van to Hilo (ITO) instead?
Yes. One-way KOA → ITO drop is available on request. Fly in to Kona, loop the island, fly out of Hilo; it's one of the cleaner ways to do a Big Island trip.
Is there a fee for Kona delivery?
Airport delivery is included for eligible trips. Rate and group size factor in; we'll confirm at booking, no surprises at the curb.
What if my flight to Kona is delayed?
We track your arrival time live. Kona's weather is mild but flights still run late; we adjust. Just text (808) 765-2290 if you're delayed on the ground.

Send us your flight, lock in the van, skip the shuttle. Most KOA crews are at the beach before check-in time.
