Why this van

Seven things we made sure of.

  1. 01

    Fits fifteen adults, plus carry-on

Three-point seatbelts every row. Seats are upright bench-style so teams, wedding parties, and family reunions actually fit. No one draws the short straw in the way-back.

  2. 02

Remove the rear bench for cargo

Pop the last row out and you've got a haul bay for surfboards, tents, cooler stacks, or a luau's worth of gear. Put it back when you're at the airport run.

  3. 03

    Automatic transmission, easy driver rotation

Anyone in the group with a standard US driver's license can take a turn behind the wheel. No CDL required. Great for long Hilo-to-Kona days.

  4. 04

Rear + front A/C, because the Big Island is big

Two separate climate zones, so row thirteen isn't melting while the driver is crisp. Non-negotiable for Kona afternoons.

  5. 05

    Saddle Road friendly

Paved the whole way across now. Our vans cross it weekly, connecting Hilo to Kona in roughly two and a half hours, cutting the long way down by half.

  6. 06

    Runs on regular unleaded

No premium surprises at the Kea'au or Waikoloa pump. Return it with the same fuel level you picked it up at.

  7. 07

Curbside delivery, not a rental counter

We meet you at ITO or KOA. Keys, paperwork, quick walk-around, and you're on the highway, not in a shuttle queue.

Full FAQ
  • Do I need a special license to drive a 15-passenger van?

No. A standard US driver's license is all you need. No CDL, no endorsement. We ask that the primary driver be 25 or older.

  • Does the 15-passenger van fit child car seats?

Yes. Every row has three-point seatbelts and LATCH-compatible positions on several seats. Families regularly install two or three child seats across rows two and three without any issue.

  • Can I drive this van to the Mauna Kea summit?

Paved access goes up to the Mauna Kea Visitor Information Station at about 9,000 feet, where our vans handle it comfortably. The summit road above the visitor center is unpaved, requires 4WD, and rental vans are not permitted beyond that point by every rental company on the island.
